Founder and Bharatanatyam teacher
With over two decades of dedicated practice and training, Samyukta Chillara brings a wealth of expertise in the Tanjavur and Kalakshetra styles of Bharatanatyam to our school. Having studied under eminent gurus such as Dr. Ananda Shankar Jayant and specialized in the marga nritta karanas of the Natyashastra, Samyukta offers our students a rare, research-based perspective on Indian classical dance. Her teaching philosophy goes beyond movement; she integrates music, aesthetics, and theory into her classes, fostering a holistic understanding of the art form. Through her guidance, students explore the universal language of dance while building a strong foundational root in ancient tradition
Supreeta Skanda has been deeply connected to music and dance from a young age, having learned both Veena and Carnatic vocal under the guidance of her grandmother, Vidushi Vedavathi Sadashiva, founder of Upasana Music Academy, Bangalore. Growing up in this rich artistic tradition, she successfully completed the Junior and Senior level examinations in Carnatic music conducted by the Karnataka Music Board, as well as the Junior and Senior level examinations in Bharatanatyam.
With several years of teaching experience at Upasana Music Academy, Supreeta has trained numerous students in both music and dance, instilling in them the same values of discipline, devotion, and joy in the arts. She has also had the privilege of performing at prestigious venues such as Nimishamba Temple, Omkar Ashram Temple, and Rajarajeshwari Temple, as well as with various cultural associations across Bangalore.
A regular participant in the Thyagaraja Aradhana celebrations, she continues to honor the great composer through her musical performances. For Supreeta, teaching extends beyond imparting knowledge—it is about nurturing confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love for the arts in every student she mentors.
